Why the name Living Creatures?
The scriptural inspiration for our name comes from the Biblical passages depicting the Living Creatures who worship and proclaim the majesty and holiness of God in Ezekiel chapters 1 and 10 and in Revelation chapter 4.
Appreciating humans as creatures created by God who bear God’s image is fundamental to appreciating the worth and purposed of human activity.
Is Living Creatures a Christian Initiative?
Yes.
Do I have to be a Christian to participate in the Living Creatures Community?
No. It is our hope and prayer that non-Christians will participate in the activities and initiatives of Living Creatures.
Do I need to be a Christian to serve as a leader with Living Creatures?
Yes. Anyone seeking to serve in leadership capacity must be a baptized Christian who acknowledges the truth and authority of the Holy Scripture (the Bible) and the three great historic creeds of the Church (Apostles, Nicene and Athanasian).
Living Creatures is ecumenical. Its leaders are not required to be affiliated with any particular denomination.
What is Living Creatures—legally speaking?
Living Creatures is a collective, community-based initiative. It does not exist as a distinct legal entity (e.g. an LLC) at this time. Perhaps it will in the future, but we are not there yet. That means Living Creatures is unable to accept tax deductible donations or buy insurance at this time.
Does Living Creatures have a formal leadership structure?
Living Creatures is working towards establishing an advisory board and other means of leadership. Living Creatures is in the “nimble” entrepreneurial stage at the moment.
